Address: Piazza San Marco 56

One of the historic sites of Venice. Yes, it’s wildly expensive but you’ll get the best cup of coffee you’ve ever tasted, the view of San Marco is sublime and the service is impeccable. There’s also great live music and if you’re made of money you can even consider some of the fabulous cakes on offer.

Wander inside to see the 18th Century paintings – the café was founded in 1720 and you can just imagine Casanova meeting his cronies here for a good gossip.
