Close to the Gare du Nord, this quiet tea-room becomes a music-hall venue once a week. As soon as you get off the Eurostar, dump your luggage in the lockers and run to have a nice hot chocolate, or flavoured tea with homemade desserts and sweets. Their warm quiches will also please your starving stomach.
I found this tea-room by chance, whilst walking back from the Sacré-Coeur. Common tourists being not adventurous enough to go so far away from their planned tour, you will find some rest after the frenzy of Montmartre.
Another sample of the “Parisian Paris”: after your halt at la T’te à l’Anvers, walk towards Gare du Nord station on the same street. On the same pavement, you will find a traditional bakery with some unbelievably tasty bread. Their pâtisseries look rather friendly (!). You cannot get lost: just follow the good smell of fresh bread.
