Antico Gatoleto is situated at the end of Campo Santa Maria Nova, with a few outside tables looking towards the exquisite façade of Santa Maria dei Miracoli, the renaissance jewel-box of a church now restored to its full glory.
The restaurant offers standard Venetian fare including sarde in saor, pasta with local specialities (tagliolini with spider crab – granseola – and rocket was good.
Puddings are a mixture of standard commercial ices and home-made pastries. Service is not the friendliest in Venice. Inexpensive to medium price.
