Mazzorbo is the little island you don't normally bother to explore, the vaporetto stop alongside Burano. On a good day however you may well wish to sit in the sun outside this little trattoria.
The young carciofi have almost certainly been grown in the garden and the wild duck which features on the menu - both in pasta and as a main course - will have been shot nearby. The wine is just as local - it's a rabosa and goes down like fruit juice.
Homemade biscuits typical of the neighbouring island of Burano make a moreish pudding. Inexpensive - no credit cards.
